“The Lotus Effect, first noticed in the leaves of the lotus, is a self-cleaning, water-repellant property found in some plants. Remarkably, despite constant exposure to dust, dirt, rain and other elements, the leaves of the lotus plant remain clean and dry.” -University of Wisconsin-Madison

I'm a writer, really I am

In the interest of interesting an agent and ultimately a publisher for my novel, I'm becoming a blogger. Apparently, it's the thing to do!

Step one in getting published--write a book. Check. And apparently that was the easy part.

Step two--get some feedback. This is underway. I'm striving not to ask my readers what they think every five minutes for two reasons. #1 I'm pretty sure it would be annoying. #2 They might tell me.

Step three--write a query and send it out. I've written and rewritten the query, but must wait for feedback and ensuing edits before forwarding the query on. I have an agent targeted, but from what I read may need to pick more than one. So, research!

In the meantime, just to prove that I'm not the only one who thinks I'm a writer. Here's where I've published my bits and pieces.

  • Now & Then, the magazine of Appalachia
